Job Description

Job Purpose: Production IT Support operates all applications within the production shop-floor. The position is the first contact for shop-floor application related incidents and coordinates other departments e.g. IT infrastructure, ERP and other IT related teams. The Production IT Support is responsible for system monitoring, data management, ad hoc reporting, testing of new functionality, implementations of system upgrades and continuous improvement feedback. The function belongs to the global team ‘Production IT Support’. It acts as the connection between the local production site and the global Production IT.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assure day to day operations of all applications within the shop-floor

Coordination of system releases with corporate group.

Configure the standardized software solutions to follow the local production needs

System monitoring (Server, Docker® Microservices, etc.) including interfaces.

Incident management for shop-floor systems. Troubleshoot, coordinate with involved groups, communicate, and provide direction to end user.

Maintaining and monitoring backups of production dependent software/systems.

Training of end-users on Manufacturing Execution System (MES) functionality

Maintain master data and support equipment implementation as well as new product implementation.

Assists in the development and implementation of Carl Zeiss Vision Network goals, objectives, policies, and priorities; conducts research, analyzes data, and makes recommendations regarding administrative, organizational, and operational issues.

Qualification Requirements:

Batchelor's Degree in Information Systems, computer science or equivalent experience to substitute for degree.

Minimum 2-year experience in helpdesk support and support from MS windows servers and desktop preferred in manufacturing environment.

Recent experience with SQL Servers, SQL queries, MongoDB or other equivalent database technology

General knowledge of relational databases

Experience working and administering both a Windows and Linux server environment is a plus.

Experience in client/server applications with applications servers preferred Wildfly or JBoss

Experience with shop-floor systems and connecting applications to machine interfaces (Serial RS232, TCP connection) is a plus

Fluent in English on a business level
