Purpose of the Job
As a strategic buyer, you will support strategy development and implementation regarding the procurement of investment goods & spare parts for your area of responsibility in an exciting international environment. In addition, you will support coordination of global cooperation with suppliers and business partners in coordination with development, production and quality. Furthermore you will implement savings projects with various interfaces to Operations and R&D and carry out strategy projects for the alignment of individual material groups.
Key Responsibility
Co-develop sourcing strategies for selected commodity groups in the area of investment goods
Monitor trends in supply markets, including the development of new suppliers and new technologies in the investment goods sector
Evaluate and compete bids, perform price and value analysis
Assist in the drafting of contracts with strategic suppliers, as well as in the related negotiation process
Prepare analyses on the life cycle of investment goods and the associated spare parts
Visit suppliers, be responsible for bidding and organizing pitches, and communicate results
Assess & streamline the existing processes to enable further growth
Requirements
A successfully completed degree in the field of economical engineering, natural sciences, mechanical engineering or in a similar subject area and at least 3 years of professional experience
A strong service mentality and awareness of working as a buyer in a high-level interface organization.
Analytical skills as well as a high degree of assertiveness and enthusiasm for industrial processes
Negotiation skills and a high degree of willingness to learn, also outside of procurement
The ability to lead a variety of stakeholders towards a common goal in a dynamic and intercultural environment
Business fluent in written and spoken English, willingness to travel
Initial experience with ERP systems (SAP recommended)
