Data Scientist

The Data Scientist will play a key role in enabling business for Data Driven Operations and Decision making in Agile and Product-centric IT environment with major focus on Drug Retrosynthesis and Integrated Drug Discovery.

Candidate would be expected to independently/with minimal supervision :

Lead by example in the application of in silico technologies to small molecule drug discovery programs

Champion and actively promote the use of cheminformatics, bioinformatics and AI/ML methods to expedite the Design-Make-Test-Analyze discovery cycle

Proficiency in algorithm/workflow development, deployment and application in a global, multi-site Linux environment including cloud computing

Design and implement scripts and/or visual programming workflows to automate data and compute intensive in silico design tasks

Work cross-functionally with colleagues in Medicinal Chemistry, Structural Biology, Biophysics, Pharmacology, ADME/Tox, IT and other functions within interdisciplinary drug discovery teams

Initiate and lead structure-based design projects in relevant therapeutic areas, collaborating with medicinal chemistry teams to optimize molecular design and protein targeting strategies.

Experience in a wide range of computational chemistry techniques including similarity searching, SAR modeling, molecule enumeration, ligand-protein modeling and the application of modern machine learning tools to key problems in chemistry, biology, and drug design.

Evaluate emerging computational and drug modalities and their application to drug discovery workflows

Partner closely with Business stakeholders for identifying opportunities and pain areas and creating business use cases chain to drive tangible Value Creation in terms of Revenue, Cost and Productivity improvement

Facilitate PoCs for potential use-cases and use Machine Learning and Deep Learning to develop / supervise development of self-correcting models and algorithms

Ensure Partnering and Collaboration with Product Managers, Solution Architects and Service teams to industrialize AI / ML models and conduct rapid and iterative prototyping of minimum viable solutions

Ensure continuous monitoring and optimization of algorithms to ensure best results

Contemporary Skills: Must have good knowledge of Data Science & Analytics, Agile Methodologies, Design Thinking, User Experience and Digital Technologies

Educational Qualifications:

Masters / Ph.D. in Cheminformatics, Computational Chemistry, Computational Biophysics, Bioinformatics, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience

Data Science / AI / ML Course from a Premier Institute is required.

Demonstrated impactful contributions to small-molecule drug discovery programs as exemplified by publications and/or patents/patent applications.

Experience Required:

Hands-on experience with AI/ML toolkits such as PyTorch and Tensor Flow

Expertise in cheminformatics / bioinformatics data analysis and large-scale data handling

Experience in CADD

Hands-on experience in use of issue tracking tools, source control, and build management

High-level proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, C++

Experience in AWS AI Platform

Efficient and flexible disposition, able to rapidly learn new fields and use data science and machine learning to improve decision making and workflows

Ability to work in a Linux/Unix enterprise environment
