The Knowledge Services team is an integral part of the future strategy of Claims Solutions and Marsh Advisory. The Claims Solutions team in Mumbai comprises of finance / accounting professionals engaged in supporting Marsh colleagues and clients across the globe with the preparation and settlement of complex insurance claims. The candidate would join the team in delivering high quality forensic accounting work across multiple geographies. This position is based in the Mumbai office
What can you expect?
Forensic accounting is a bespoke service offered to Marsh clients by the Claims Solutions team within Knowledge Services. The team works closely with other Marsh colleagues across the globe to provide analytical solutions, visualizations, claim data management, and forensic accounting services to clients in a variety of industries. The role responsibilities include the following:
Use forensic accounting skills to undertake the quantitative analysis necessary to quantify,
document, and present claims to (re)insurers with an emphasis on Business Interruption claims.
Analyze data and perform in-depth review of electronically stored information and documents
including purchase orders, invoices, expense bills etc.
Review client provided financial statements to analyze the impact of damages related to
catastrophic events, fire, flood, product recall, or other covered losses.
Interact with client personnel and internal stakeholders to obtain information and present measured damages.
Assist with the preparation of pre-loss Business Interruption projects to address the adequacy of
current client insurance policy wording and limits.

Delivery Management
Develop a thorough understanding of the Risk Evaluation model and process.
Prepare detailed work-papers and assisting in preparation of confidential reports.
Understand the client’s financial statement and provide financial analysis on the components of
financial statement.
Prepare claims for businesses who have incurred losses that could be caused by natural
catastrophe.
Collaborating with other teams within Knowledge Services, Mumbai to enhance the current value
proposition and pioneer innovative solutions to claim preparation and data management related
problems.
Mentor more junior KS colleagues to support achievement of their professional goals.
Reviewing work products prepared by more junior team members to provide Quality Assurance
(QA) and actionable feedback.
Stakeholder Management
Partner/Collaborate with the FAS colleagues. Closely liaise with relevant stakeholders through
continuous communication and contribute to their success.
Support Marsh Claims Solutions colleagues in regions around the world to quantify, document, and
present losses occurring in local geographies.
What you need to have:
Essential
Chartered Accountant or completed degree in Master of Business Administration, Finance
7-9 years professional experience in accounting firm (Big 4) or similar consulting
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact with all levels of internal
and external business partners
Ability to work independently and think critically regarding financial statement analysis
Ability to manage personal and junior colleague time appropriately to deliver high-quality
projects
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to preparing error-free analysis
