Roles & Responsibilities:

Supervise and oversee construction activities on-site, including coordinating the work of labor crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators to ensure timely and efficient project execution.

Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure that work is completed according to design requirements and quality standards.

Allocate resources, materials, and equipment effectively to maximize productivity and minimize downtime, coordinating with project managers and procurement teams as needed.

Monitor and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations and practices, conducting regular safety inspections and ensuring that safety protocols are followed at all times.

Train and mentor construction workers and apprentices, providing guidance, support, and feedback to enhance their skills and performance.

Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to address project-related issues, resolve conflicts, and ensure that project goals are met.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of work progress, materials usage, and equipment maintenance, preparing daily reports and logs as required.

Participate in project planning meetings, providing input and feedback on scheduling, resource allocation, and construction methodologies.

Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of the job.

Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel

Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably

Requirements and skills:

Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.

Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve project goals..

Ability to hire, train, and supervise workers

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with workers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure to resolve issues and keep projects on track.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices, with a commitment to promoting a safe work environment.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges and finding solutions.

Proficiency in construction management software, Microsoft Office suite, and other relevant tools and technology..

Experience in a supervisory or related role

Qualifications:

Graduate with a minimum of 7 years experience preferably in the construction industry.
