SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Allegiance is currently looking for an energetic individual to join our Houston branch as a heavy-duty Crane Mechanic. This position requires a candidate with an excellent work ethic, ability to travel, willingness to learn new things in a safe and efficient manner.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

Able to diagnose and/or determine technical problems

Able to perform regular inspection of all equipment within the department

Must document all repairs and parts replacement for equipment files

Be able to read, understand and follow hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical diagrams

Able to perform regular maintenance of equipment/material within the department

Able to perform/execute repairs on equipment within the department

Mentor apprentices

Conduct all business in a professional, respectful manner

Understand and support Business Policies and Procedures

Ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed

Carry out all work in accordance with business policies and procedures, including the use of all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)

Other duties as assigned by supervision

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Job Qualifications

Experience

Must have sufficient training and experience in repairing of major brands of cranes & trailers in fleet.

Education

Journeyman trade certificate (Red Seal preferred)

Leadership, basic computer knowledge and strong organizational skills and experience will be an asset.

Minimum of 5 years work experience

Languages

Proficient in English, written and spoken

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency

Related experience

Ability to work overtime as needed

Essential Skills:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple step instructions

Ability to multitask

Ability to pay attention to surroundings

Basic math skills

Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and can be exposed to climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
