We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager to join our Manufacturing team. This role is integral to the success of our operations as it ensures the safety and well-being of all our employees. The HSE Manager will be responsible for implementing and monitoring safety programs, conducting safety audits, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory safety policies and procedures. This role requires a proactive, hands-on approach to safety management, with the ability to influence and drive a positive safety culture throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage the company’s health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.

Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.

Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding occupational safety and health.

Provide safety training and education programs, and ensure all employees are aware of their responsibilities and accountabilities.

Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.

Lead the development of safety policies and procedures, and ensure they are communicated and understood by all employees.

Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors, and manage any necessary corrective actions.

Continually review and update safety systems and procedures to ensure their effectiveness and compliance with current legislation.

Promote a positive safety culture within the organization through visible safety leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.

Minimum of 5-7 years of safety leadership experience within the Manufacturing industry.

Proven experience in maintaining regulatory safety policies and procedures.

Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive safety audits.

Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation is preferred.

Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain effective safety programs.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and manage risk.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.

Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
