This position is a key role within our organization, playing an integral part in the strategic sourcing and purchasing of materials and services necessary for our engineering operations.

The successful candidate will be directly involved in the negotiation of contracts, production planning, cost reduction strategies, and materials management.

This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the engineering industry.

Responsibilities: 1.

Leverage your negotiation skills to secure the best terms and prices for all purchases, while maintaining the highest quality standards and adherence to company policies.

2.

Lead production planning efforts, ensuring all materials and services are acquired in a timely manner to meet production schedules and project deadlines.

3.

Develop and implement cost reduction strategies, identifying opportunities for savings without compromising on quality or efficiency.

4.

Manage the procurement of a wide range of materials, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained at all times.

5.

Evaluate current and potential suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, and the supplier's reputation and history.

6.

Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and engineering, to forecast future procurement needs and to ensure alignment with budgetary and project requirements.

7.

Maintain and update records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.

8.

Stay current with industry trends and advancements, applying this knowledge to your role to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications: 1.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a buying role within the engineering industry.

2.

Proven experience in negotiating, production planning, cost reduction, and materials management.

3.

A degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

4.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

5.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.

6.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with purchasing software.

7.

Knowledge of market research, data analysis, and purchasing best practices.

8.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

9.

A proactive approach, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and take the initiative to implement changes.

10.

A strong sense of integrity, with a commitment to upholding high ethical standards.
