About This Position
We are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Specialist to join our growing team. QA Specialists of all experience levels are encouraged to apply. You'll join a fast-moving, cross-functional team testing and developing elegant cloud-based solutions for complex problems.
Our ideal candidate is curious, always looking for new ways to solve problems, and has the aptitude to implement complex technologies quickly and effectively. In addition, you are collaborative and can make a well-rounded contribution to the team.
This is a full-time position out of our Lexington, KY office and can be on-site, hybrid, or remote. If remote, you can expect to visit the office for new hire orientation and typically for team meetings once a quarter.
What You'll Do:
Design and execute test plans to ensure software meets design specifications
Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Create, execute, and document detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
Monitor debugging process results.
Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
Participate in the entire software development life cycle, from feature design to deployment
Collaborate with the product and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions
What We're Looking For:
Proven work experience in software quality assurance; experience in complex microservice or big data environments preferred
Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools for API and service applications
Experience working with cloud-based services, experience with Azure is a plus
Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in software quality assurance.
Proven leadership experience in managing QA teams.
Extensive knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Experience in designing and implementing automated testing frameworks.
Proficiency in at least one programming languages and scripting.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with continuous integration/delivery practices.
A track record of successful project completion and product launches.
Exceptional attention to detail
Good oral and written communication skills
Strong critical thinking skills
Ability to work well with people of varying technical abilities
Bonus points for:
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related subject
Proficiency in computer technology and programming languages
Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL
Familiarity working with large data solutions
Experience in dental, logistics, hospitality, or other vertical markets
