Not a payroll processing role, we're seeking someone who can lead the charge in revamping our reporting and compliance process for Union Staff in this newly created position.
Job duties:
Ensure accurate processing, recording and reporting to the appropriate agencies the certified payroll and other documents required by the department of industrial relations (DIR) for the companyâ s prevailing wage projects.
Monitor compliance with California prevailing wage requirements by the companyâ s subcontractors.
Timely prepare and file compliance forms required by the DIR for CA prevailing wage projects.
Assist in preparation of certified payroll reports
Weekly reporting to regulatory agencies via websites; DIR, LCP Tracker, etc.
Collect apprentice and journeyman certifications.
Match worksite daily reports to certified payroll reports
Assist with processing monthly Union Benefit and/or training reports.
Prepare wage rate sheets for multiple work classifications on prevailing wage projects
Correspond with multiple unions requesting apprentices as needed/required
Provide advance notices for apprenticeship needs on projects (DAS-142) and act as liaison with apprenticeship offices including internal communication of apprenticeship requests and pending dispatch of apprentices, tracking apprentice hours and monitoring pay
grades accordingly
Request and review prevailing wage compliance forms and certified payroll reports for subcontractors
Correspond with subcontractors regarding any deficiencies and follow up to obtain corrections as needed
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years experience in CA prevailing wage labor compliance
Full knowledge of labor compliance forms such as DAS140, DAS142, Fringe Benefit Statements, Labor Law Checklists, CAC2 and Union Status Letters.
Experience with Union payroll and associated fringe benefits.
Understanding of Union Fringe Benefit reporting.
Experience with Subcontractor compliance and certified payroll tracking & auditing.
Knowledge of California Public Works Apprenticeship
Knowledge of how to set up and maintenance of prevailing wage and fringe rates using bi-annual wage determinations published on the DIR website.
Knowledge of apprenticeship requirements and ability to communicate effectively with various unions in fulfilling requests for apprentices on prevailing wage projects.
Knowledge of skilled and trained workforce and Project Labor Agreement (PLA) requirements
Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, sharepoint
