An internship at the Ohio Lottery Commission will add to your professional development and give you practical work experience. The internship is an opportunity to learn and work in your field of study, expand on your classroom knowledge and gain hands-on exposure. The College Intern will work closely with agency staff members on a variety of assignments.

The internship will begin in June 2024 and end in September 2024.

The position is temporary in nature, benefits are not offered.

What You'll Do:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assists with coordinating legal activities; researching, analyzing, investigating, and drafting legal documents; attending administrative hearings; and assisting attorneys and paralegals with case management.

Prepares, reviews, and edits legal correspondence and other legal documents for supervisor review.

Researches and analyzes legal sources such as statutes, case law, administrative records, opinions, articles, treaties, policies, and rules and regulations.

Ensures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information.

Complies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity.

Performs related work as needed.

Hours: 20-24 Hours per week, Monday - Friday. Hybrid work schedule opportunity may be available. Supervisor, Reports to the Senior Legal Assistant.

Employment and Educational Requirements:

All applicants must be currently and continuously enrolled in school. Applicants not enrolled in at least one course will not be eligible for the internship.

All applicants must submit a letter from the college registrar's office, on official college letterhead, clearly stating the following information:

Verification of enrollment in the 2024 Spring semester/quarter

Verification of status (e.g., freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, graduate, law, etc.)

Major course of study

Dates the 2024 Spring semester/quarter began and ends.

Estimated date of graduation
