Medical Billing Specialist

Job Description

Robert Half is in search of a Medical Billing Accounts Receivable Specialist for our client in Wilmington, DE. Your role will be integral to the financial health of our dynamic and growing orthopedic practice, as you will be responsible for the accurate processing and management of medical billing claims and accounts receivable.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze medical claims for accuracy and completeness.

• Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies.

• Follow up on outstanding claims and denials in a timely manner.

• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and unpaid claims.

• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients.

• Process patient payments and reconcile accounts receivable.

• Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and internal staff regarding billing and payment inquiries.

• Stay current with insurance regulations and billing guidelines.

• Utilize skills in Medical Billing, Accounts Receivable (AR), Insurance Claims, and Claim Denials to ensure efficient operations.

• Proficiency in Medical Billing is a key requirement

• Strong knowledge and experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in processing Insurance Claims is necessary

• Must be adept at handling Claim Denials and related issues

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required

• Should be detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Proficiency in using medical billing software and related tools

• Must have a good understanding of medical terminology and coding

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask

• Must adhere to all privacy and confidentiality standards in handling patient information

• Relevant certification in Medical Billing or related field would be a plus.
