JOB TITLE: EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN / SECURITY OFFICER
Reports To: Safety & Security Manager
Supervises: May exercise functional supervision over Part Time Security and Guest Services Staff when assigned to do so for various events
Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision from the Safety & Security Manager, the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)/Security Officer provides basic level emergency and non-emergency care to the ill and injured, to include assessment of illness and/or injury, management of such patients, preparation for transport, transfer of information, and patient care. Security Officers provide general protection of facility property and personnel; monitor facility and protect against fire, damage and theft; provide general information and assistance to facility guests. In the absence of the Security Supervisor, Security Agents may receive event-related instructions from Event Managers or general instructions from the Manager on Duty, Director of Operations or General Manager.
This role will pay a salary of $22.

Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES: (include, but are not limited to…)
Provide basic life support treatment of patients
Provide CPR all within the EMT scope of practice
Thorough knowledge of EMS procedures and ability to integrate knowledge and performance into practical situations
Interact professionally with guest, staff and other health care personnel
Interact professionally with disabled, disadvantaged, sick and injured persons
Work as part of a team
Accurately and completely document information required
Give report verbally or in writing to manager
Clean the equipment, check and replace the used and damaged supplies
Compliance with all company and local agency policies, procedures, and applicable protocols for emergency treatment
Maintain a clean appearance, demonstrating courteous and ethical behavior
Patrol assigned facility; lock and unlock doors as required; guard property against fire, theft and damage
Observe facilities and equipment for needed maintenance and repairs; recognize and report damage and safety hazards
Be aware of the location and use of emergency alarms and equipment; follow established procedures in case of fire, disorder or other emergency situation
Observe general public; provide general information, directions and assistance to facility guests; report suspicious behavior to Security Base; apply effective apprehension techniques as required
Maintain high degree of visibility and professionalism; respond to various situations, issues and requests for assistance; prepare incident reports in accordance with departmental standards
§ Assist medical personnel by directing traffic, crowd control and securing needed equipment
As Base Operator, ensure correct and orderly flow of event personnel from shift to shift; monitor and administer proper sign in/out policies; monitor security system and report abnormalities to the Director of Operations or Security Supervisor; take corrective actions when needed; maintain detailed and accurate notes in the daily log book; properly brief relief officer of occurrences during assigned shift
Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing
Perform other duties as required

§ Work effectively in a service oriented environment subject to frequently changing priorities
Stand and walk for long periods of time and lift objects up to 50 pounds

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, contractors and facility users

Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended (long) work days and extended numbers of days
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Must be 18 years of age or older
§ Minimum of one (1) year of EMT experience
Education / Training:
§ High school diploma, or equivalent GED
Licenses or Certificates:
§ Possession of, or ability to obtain a Kansas or Missouri driver’s license or identification card
§ Possession of, or ability to obtain a CPR certificate
§ Possession of, or ability to obtain state (Kansas) EMT and national certificates
§ Basic Life Support certified
