POSITION SUMMARY:
The project manager- finance role requires knowledge and understanding of hospital finance and accounting processes and systems. The individual will have a track record of successfully collaborating with stakeholders across the organization and meaningful contribution to solution development and execution. Skilled in planning and execution, the individual will have excellent problem solving / analytical skills. This position will dual report to the Director of Budgeting and the Accounting Manager.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Maintain monthly expense tracking document for BMCHS’s population health services (PHS) division
Ensure totality of spending related to PHS initiatives are accounted for in appropriate AUs/entities by managing the monthly close process for PHS
Ensure compliance with any internal or externally mandated spending policies or guidelines
Review monthly variances to budget and initiate corrective action as appropriate
Process invoices/POs for PHS expenses
Provide education and assistance to PHS operational leaders regarding financial policies and procedures
Prepare ACO member invoices and associated supporting documentation
Assist in annual budget preparation for BMCHS PHS (FY) and PHS annual budget (PY)
Assist with identification of existing PHS programs within the BMCHS for review by PHS leadership
Prepare routine monthly internal reporting in addition to any necessary ad-hoc or external reporting
Reading and understanding (with guidance and interpretation as appropriate from accounting and audit) the State’s guidance on DSRIP and Population Health funding and reporting
Quarterly community health center (CHC) analysis, revenue recognition project, and other accounting and finance projects as needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Business (preferable accounting or finance), or related field required.
EXPERIENCE:
Requires 2-3 years of work experience, of which at least 1 year is in healthcare accounting or finance.

Manage discussions and meetings related to project work including anticipating stakeholders and developing agendas as well as clearly communication next steps/follow-ups and tracking deliverables

Requires a comprehensive knowledge of finance and business administration and a working knowledge of budget and planning
Requires working knowledge of GAAP
High degree of analytical skills
Must be organized and able to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines and schedules
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact and communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts.
Must have excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience working with Lawson preferred
