Inviting applications for the role of Consultant - Linux Admin

Responsibilities:

• Manage, support, and maintain Linux installed systems.

• Install, upgrade, migrate and maintain Linux based systems.

• Ensure security of systems and data

• Manage system backups, restore, and recovery.

• Manage and maintain printers and scanners.

• Manage user accounts, groups, and services.

• Manage and maintain storage.

• Work with users to resolve account/system issues.

• Provide support on all Linux applications and UNIX based applications.

• Provide support to users on basic and advanced desktop and server tasks.

• Assist with Linux server administration tasks.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Automate server maintenance, including running scripts and automated processes.

• Maintain server uptime and network performance.

• Assist with server documentation.

• Maintain server security.

• Ensure all administrative procedures are followed.

• Document all server incidents and outages.

• Familiarity with Security, OS Internals concepts

• Understanding of Virtualization concepts and virtual system administration

• Cloud experience preferred.

• Familiarity with core OS services such as: SSH, SFTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, Samba, LDAP

• Familiarity with networking concepts including VIPs, NAT, DNS

• Familiarity with networking tools (ping, tracert, tracemon, tcpdump, etc.)

• Understanding of the OSI model and related concepts

• Good years of experience administering infrastructure in Azure

• Understanding of load balancing, geo-redundancy, CDN and VPN technologies preferred.

• Experience in Domain and SSL provisioning and implementation

Qualifications we seek in you!

Minimum qualifications / Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field

• Good years of experience administering Linux (OEL) (boot process, file systems, network device and protocol configuration, updates, and patches)

• Experienced in understanding and remediating security threats.

Preferred qualifications / Skills

Very good written and presentation / verbal communication skills with experience of customer interfacing role. In-depth requirement understanding skills with good analytical and problem solving ability, interpersonal efficiency, and positive attitude
