The Sales Manager will direct their time, attention and effort in such a manner as to ensure the dealership meets its unit and gross objectives on a daily, monthly and yearly basis. The Sales Manager is also responsible for seeing that the retail and fleet units sold produce sufficient gross to aid the dealership in reaching its profit objectives. The Sales Manager will carry out their responsibilities through planning, organizing, coordinating and measuring the activities of the Sales department. The Sales Manager will report to and coordinate all activities with the General Manager.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Providing training, leadership, and support to the sales and finances teams to meet or exceed monthly targets.

Collaborate with the other Sales Managers to determine the proper inventory mix, procedure development, and strategy.

Hold the Sales team accountable for maintaining display, customer service, and performance standards.

Review and monitor departmental expenses.

Oversee, in conjunction with the other Sales Manager, all dealership personnel functions including recruitment, performance management, recognition, and termination.

Work with the General Manager (GM) and Sales Manager on monthly and quarterly forecasting.

Implement and monitor Capital Auto Group and factory programs and policies.

Consistently reviewing procedures to provide feedback and recommendations for business improvement.

Ensuring all proper documentation is kept and recorded to standards.

Position Requirements:

Retail sales management experience - automotive industry specific is preferred.

Proven leadership ability to recruit, select, train, coach and develop a team.

Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.

Ability to drive an exceptional customer experience.

Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships.

Proven organizational and time management skills.

Experience working with technology with efficiency.

Valid driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
