What You’ll Do:
To be responsible for the washing up of kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery and cutlery using
dishwashers and washing up sinks where appropriate
To ensure that all kitchen areas are kept clean according to the cleaning schedule and the company’s health and safety requirements.
To assist the chef brigade in general food preparation and basic food service when required.
General Daily Duties:
To be responsible for the general cleaning of all kitchen areas to required standards as laid down in cleaning schedule
To ensure that all utensils are returned to their respective places after washing
To ensure that kitchen areas are swept at regularly intervals
To ensure that all bins are emptied at regular intervals throughout the day and that all rubbish is taken to refuse containers located by the back stairs. This must be done again as a last job in the evening
To operate dish wash machines in a safe manner as instructed, ensuring that the water is changed regularly
To ensure that chemical cupboard is kept clean, locking it after use and report any damage to Head Chef immediately
To prepare and assist at special functions which may fall outside normal working hours
To help the chef brigade with basic food preparation and service, as well as any other
reasonable tasks requested by the team
Health & Safety Regulations:
To ensure company procedures and statutory requirements pertaining to food operations, health & safety, COSSH and fire are strictly adhered to
To ensure a standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with etc.venues and statutory regulations, wearing the correct standard of uniform at all times
To ensure all catering areas are left clean and tidy as is reasonably practical at all times.
To report any loss immediately to Head Chef
Customer Care:
To take all possible steps to deliver first class customer service at all times and in all circumstances and ensure excellent standards of customer care are achieved in the catering area
To maintain a courteous and professional manner and attitude towards clients and colleagues throughout the working day
To be familiar with company procedure and policies with regards to client complaints and compliments reporting all such incidents to the Head Chef immediately
To carry out any reasonable management request.
General:
To be a proactive team member offering help to others as required
To carry out any reasonable management request
To attend team and venue meetings as required
To be available for staff briefings and company events including attendance at the company annual conference
To be available for occasional evening and weekend work subject to the lieu time policy currently in place
To attend training courses as required
