We are seeking an experienced, collaborative and results-oriented individual to join our 10x team as an Senior EHS Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety and health background, with demonstrated performance in maintaining EHS functions in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry. The individual shall be capable of working alongside the EHS team in developing, implementing, and coordinating all safety and environmental functions according to corporate policy to ensure compliance with local regulations.

This position reports to the EHS Director in Pleasanton, California, and this role is based in Singapore. Periodic travel to the US may be required.

Ensure a safe work environment and that all practices are in compliance with company policy, local EHS legislation, regulation and practices.
Drive, coordinate and implement all safety and health initiatives
Execute excellent safety and environmental practices on a daily basis
Complete and manage applications and renewals for local permits and licenses
Identify and monitor potential hazards and determine appropriate mitigation technique
Manage, develop and deliver EHS training (new hire orientation, annual refreshers, etc.), emergency drills, and programs as needed
Oversee maintenance and inspection records of safety related items such as fire protection equipment, emergency shower and eye wash, spill response kits, first aid box, AED, etc.
Maintain chemical inventory and SDS system
Conduct site inspections, safety incident investigation and reporting
Lead onsite EHS audit – internal and external
Assist EHS Director in preparing site specific annual budgets
Main contact with all regulatory agencies such as MOM, NEA,SCDF, OSHA, EPA, etc.
Support the 10x global EHS and security departments as requested
Ensure compliance with local regulations pertaining to environmental, occupational health and safety policies, including Singapore MOM, NEA, SCDF, etc. and handle all contact with the appropriate agencies.
Facilitate Singapore monthly safety committee meetings
Conduct themselves in accordance to the company culture and health and safety policy
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in a science discipline or environmental engineering and relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry
Minimum of five years of relevant experience as an EHS professional
Must possess and demonstrate a strong understanding in ergonomic principles in a lab manufacturing environment
Demonstrated experience in hazardous waste management and practices
Customer service oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of local regulatory requirements and governmental agencies that may apply to processes or equipment used in the Biotech industry
Must understand the continuous improvement philosophy and constantly strive to elevate EHS
Excellent verbal and written communications including presentation skills
Must be able to effectively engage with others, and show a strong competency in problem-solving
Strength in organizing, implementing and affecting comprehensive change
Must excel in communicating ideas and changes to influence change effectively
Ability to adapt easily to changing needs and priorities
Current Singapore Ministry of Manpower Workplace Safety and Health Officer Certification (WSHO)
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of biosafety in microbiological and biomedical laboratories
Demonstrated experience in handling hazardous waste and medical waste
First aid, CPR and AED certified
Industrial hygiene experience
Fluent in Mandarin a plus
