Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Buyer/Planner to join our team. As a Senior Buyer/Planner, you play an important role in interpreting material demands, executing procurement activities, and coordinatinrg material movement to meet production schedules. This person requires strong leadership abilities and the capacity to engage in advanced functions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

Interpret material demands generated by the ERP system and provide proposal support.

Analyze demand for excess and obsolescence conditions.

Execute procurement (micro-purchase) activities as required.

Place purchase requisitions to ensure adherence to procurement requirements.

Coordinate the movement of material and advance work in progress to meet production schedules.

Collaborate with Draper management to derive more efficient processes and procedures for material acquisition, inspection, and movement.

Essential Functions:

Plan, order for and report on high-visibility priority programs requiring detailed procurement requirements and schedule adherence.

Perform inventory analysis and launch procurement in MRP.

Handle electronic component procurement for Government and Commercial customers.

Verify vendor eligibility with corporate Vendor Management.

Ensure on-time delivery from manufacturing by meeting with production personnel.

Perform obsolescence analysis and interface with engineering to address obsolescence and lead time issues.

Determine lifecycle state and country of origin of material.

Send engineering-generated source control documents to vendors and ensure compliance.

Tailor routings for receipt and incoming inspection of parts based on contractual requirements.

Obtain documented objective evidence (IE CoC, customer flow downs, quotes, etc.) and maintain records to support internal and external audits.

Resolve DMR issues affecting receiving and planning to maintain schedule.

Monitor PO status from internal approval to delivery and provide updates to cross-functional teams.

Assist in resolving receiving, kitting, planning and invoicing problems.

Oversee RFQ with vendors to obtain price and delivery information.

Participate in your development and growth through goals agreed to by Draper management.

Qualifications

College Degree plus 5 years of experience or 9 years of equivalent experience

Strong understanding of ERP systems

Experience with Microsoft Office products; Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent communication skills

Strong understanding of FAR/ DFAR, ITAR and ISO requirements.

APICS training or certification is a strong plus

MBA is a plus
