We are a small but quickly expanding company located in Halifax. In order to meet our business developing needs, we would like to welcome a purchasing agent to our team.
As a purchasing agent, you are responsible for the following responsibilities:
1. Purchase company required equipment and materials including but not limit to solar panels, battery storage and other energy related products
2. Sourcing required equipment and products from global market especially China
3. Invite tenders, consult with suppliers and review quotations
4. Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts or recommend contract awards
5. Establish logistics of delivery schedules, find shipping company and supply chain companies. Monitor progress and solve problems to make sure delivery on time
6. Assistant shipping company with custom declarations when necessary
7. Liaise with Canada Customs
8. Other duties as assigned.
We welcome someone with the following skills and experience:
A college diploma+ is required. Preferably in business administration, commerce or economics. At least two years of previous work experience. Hard-working and reliable. Good oral and written communication skills in English. Mandarin Chinese is required.
