Deputy Court Clerk II (INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY)

JOB SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Court Administrator, this position performs a broad range of administrative duties in support of the Municipal Court operations while complying with state/local laws and city policies.

QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Two years of general office, clerical or customer service experience.

Two years of experience in a Municipal Court.

Previous cash handling experience.

Texas Municipal Court Clerk Certification; Level II preferred.

Special Requirements: Must pass the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.

Must possess a valid class "C" Texas driver's license Microsoft experience (Word, Excel, etc.) required.

Ability to type 35 wpm with 90% accuracy.

Work overtime as needed to complete essential job functions and/or community events.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of basic accounting methods to balance receipts.

Knowledge of various Microsoft products.

Knowledge of the court system.

Skill in the use of computer software applications.

Ability to be informative and courteous with the public and other city employees.

Ability to quickly and accurately scan large amounts of information.

Ability to quickly and accurately type information in the computer.

Ability to willingly perform duties in a team environment.

Ability to understand policies and confidentiality.

Ability to multitask.

Ability to stand for long periods.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is sedentary and requires the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: fingering, mental acuity, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, talking and visual acuity.
