Vantage is looking for an ambitious, detail-oriented, hands-on Manager, Network & IT Construction, APAC with a focus on Networking, providing leadership and technical expertise in networks to external and internal customers of Vantage Data Centre. The role requires delivery of solutions to hardware and software problems, whilst working in accordance with company policy and predefined SLA’s.

He/she is responsible for managing operation, maintenance, deployment, upgrade and ongoing support in APAC, namely APAC Data Centers and carrier grade networks providing Internet backbone services to mission critical commercial clients. The successful candidate will work with Site Operation to ensure operational excellence and customer Service, maintaining service levels for key customers running their mission critical businesses in our Internet backbone.

The successful candidate will additionally be responsible for deployment of new Data Centre build per Vantage Global network and system standards; enhancements and documentation.

Essential Job Functions

Operation, deployment, and ongoing support of APAC Data Centers and carrier grade Internet backbone networks

Maintain a 24/7 uninterrupted operation with 100% uptime for our customers

Identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and work with cybersecurity to address efficiently

Lead a team of highly skilled network and IT construction engineers, coach, mentor and all aspects related to people management

Lead engineers for network and systems installation, configuration, troubleshooting and monitoring

Monitor task progress, and analyze risks and issues

Communicate with different stakeholders including IT support staff and non-technical users to ensure projects are delivered with great satisfaction.

Analyze and report overall systems and network on security breaches or attempted breaches. Mentor and guide junior staff on operation and configuration of systems

Use performance measurements, metrics and dashboards to drive team performance and KPI attainment

Subject Matter Expert representing the IT department for all IT construction projects in APAC Data Centres and Site Offices

Maintain deadlines and communication to Construction Project Managers and General Contractors and System Integrators.

Design, manage and test data backup and disaster recovery

Manage tasks in accordance with client SLAs

Help develop and implement Standard Operations Procedures

Operational support for network infrastructure, firewalls, routers, switches, WAPs etc

Duties

Responsible to implement global design (with regional variation), IT construction and operational maintenance of the T&S system & network infrastructure in the Data Centre deployment

Support, and monitor vendor/SI/GC activities (acceptance criteria) ensuring work activities meet scope of work and follow established procedures

Document process, network, and system diagram, patching matrix, rack elevation diagram and associated diagram during project for handover

Remote support for all APAC Data Centers pertaining to network, backup and system infrastructure during new construction deployments

Support planning and implementing system, backup and network integrations working with Construction Project team

Communicate with different stakeholders to ensure that DC projects are delivered on time and within budget and great satisfaction

To provide professional guidance and specialist advice to the business on both systems and project matters ensuring projects are initiated correctly and appropriate levels of governance are applied

Development of business cases, whole life costing analysis and ensuring briefs and feasibility proposals are developed in accordance with business aims.

Supporting projects so they remain within budget and time parameters, identifying and planning effective use of internal and external resources.

Manage any incidents / software defects, escalations and change program.

Identify opportunities to develop systems to meet business requirements, utilizing existing functionality or through systems development.

Support the Director, Information Technology in delivering services that are essential to the success of the business.

Job Requirements

Degree or equivalent experience in Informational Technology.

Minimum 15+ years of experience in IT preferably supporting or working in a Hyper-scaler/Enterprise Data Centre. Environment

6+ years experience managing engineers with a proven track record of developing staff and creating highly performing teams

Expert level, technical hand-on knowledge in networking, routing, switching, firewalls etc, able to diagnose complex issues efficiently

Relevant technical certifications such as Fortinet NSE 4+, CCIE, JNCIE essential

Ability to work independently and makes decision in region with minimal supervision from leaders

Project management (PMP/Prince2) experience preferred

Expert knowledge of connectivity solution development and network protocols (e.g.OSPF, BGP, VRRP and HSRP)

Travel is expected to be less than 10-20%, in APAC.

Kknowledge and experience with the following products and/or equivalent:

Fortinet firewalls and switches

F5 LTM & GTM, Checkpoint

Juniper & Netscreen firewalls

NetEnforcer or similar bandwidth controllers

Sitescope/MRTG monitoring tool

Radware DefensePro or similar IPS

A10 Thunder ADC
