Arch Painting flourished into one of New England’s leadingcommercial and residential painters and over the past two years have expanded nationally. In January 2023, they completed the acquisition of PPG Services and Paintzen from PPG Paint, as part of their national growth strategy. They are currently seeking aVice President of Sales & Business Development for immediate hiring, reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, who will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing effective sales and business development strategies to achieve and exceed company goals. The opportunity is based at the company headquarters in Woburn, Massachusetts.

Job Scope

The Vice President of Sales & Business Development is a highly visible and dynamic role, responsible for driving revenue growth and ensuring the success of the sales & business development function within the organization by achieving or exceeding our aggressive growth goals. The VP will be tasked with orchestrating a strategic and sustainable revenue expansion strategy. Collaborating closely with the President & CEO, they will develop and implement business strategies, assemble high-performing teams (Business Development Executives and Inside Sales Reps), and develop comprehensive sales plans that ensure the company’s continued success. From cultivating relationships to devising budgeted sales targets, they will navigate an intricatelandscape, leveraging their expertise to guide the company toward new heights of achievement. With the backing of an amazing operations team and a comprehensive array of resources, the VP will drive transformative change in a growth- focusedenvironment. The role offers a chance to guide the strategic direction, explore untapped territories, and amplify the company’s industry impact. The VP will foster collaboration across departments, impacting both the company's internal dynamics and itsmarket influence. As the company’s ambassador for revenue generation, the VP will lead by example and inspire others toelevate their performance, driving to achieve dominance in industry. While previous painting industry experience is desirable, the final candidate will have deep sales and business development skills from one or more of facilities services sectors including, butnot limited to, waste management, janitorial, maintenance, landscaping, flooring, signage, security, technical services, carpeting,disaster recovery, construction, roofing, etc. S/he has also grown previous employers’ annual sales beyond the $100m annuallevel. We are not interested in candidates with only product sales experience—having sold commercial facilities services in the pastis mandatory. Importantly, the final candidate will bring a level of sophistication and professionalism to the sales and new business development process for the company to continue to raise the bar in operational excellence and customer satisfaction. They will be responsible for leading and managing the business development team, as well as the inside sales team, fostering a high-performance culture, and driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships and customer acquisition. Key Accountabilities

· Develop, implement, and execute the overall sales & business development strategy aligned with the company's business objectives and revenue targets.

· Lead and manage the sales team, providing direction, guidance, and support to ensure the team meets or exceeds sales targets.

· Establish clear and measurable sales objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team.

· Train and develop a high-performing sales team including sales representatives and other sales professionals.

· Monitor and analyze sales performance data, providing regular reports to executive leadership. Take corrective actions as needed to address performance gaps.

· Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs. Use this information to adjust sales strategies accordingly.

· Oversee the implementation and use of CRM tools to manage customer relationships, track sales activities, and analyze data for decision-making.

· Work closely with the sales team to manage and nurture key customer accounts.

· Develop accurate sales forecasts and projections, providing input for overall business planning.

· Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, operations, and administration to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to customer engagement.

· Develop and manage the sales budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve sales goals.

· Participate in and oversee negotiations of contracts, and terms with clients.

· Implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the sales team.

· Continuously assess and optimize sales processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

· Maintain clear communication channels within the sales team and across the organization.

· Ensure the sales team operates in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

· Achieving company goals is a MUSST. Excuses or BS will not be tolerated.

· Engage in travel to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support the sales team.

· Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Required Skills, Qualifications, Education, and Competencies

· Minimum ten years’ experience in sales and business development in the painting or facility services sector.

· Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.

· Writes and speaks clearly, persuasively, concisely, and informatively in positive or negative situations, particularly at the owner/senior management/C-Suite level of prospective or existing clients.

· A relationship builder, both internally and externally, at all levels of the organization.

· A lead generator and go-to-market expert who understands what it takes to attract and retain clients.

· While paint industry experience is a “nice to have”, fluency in facility services sales is paramount.

· Bring a healthy book of potential business and the ability to sell a solution, not just a painting contract.

· Must have experience and track record of successfully managing teams and growing a national service business from $30m to $50m and beyond.

· Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and influence others positively.

· A team player who knows what it takes to get things done in a family-oriented company.

· Demonstrated outstanding customer relationship management skills in a business development environment, preferably at the local, regional, and national level.

Reporting Relationships, Location

The Vice President of Sales & Business Development reports directly to the President & CEO and will be based at the company’sheadquarters in Woburn, Massachusetts. The current sales team is three outside representatives and one inside salesperson. Relocation will be offered, as necessary, to the final candidate.
