A health services agency on Long Island is currently seeking a Certified Alcoholism And Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) or LMSW (Licensed Masters Social Worker) to join their Outpatient team in Suffolk County on a Full Time basis.
About the Opportunity
Start Date: ASAP
Setting: Outpatient
Schedule / Hours: Monday - Friday (9am to 5pm)
Patient Population: Men & Women struggling with addiction, military veterans, mothers and babies, families, homeless New Yorkers, and the elderly
Responsibilities:
The CASAC/LMSW will:
Develop treatment plans in concert with Program Director or Clinical Supervisor that reflect an understanding of specialized
Track issues as related to the physical, medical, cognitive and psychosocial needs and specific diagnosis
Ensure groups start on time and run as scheduled
Facilitate group counseling, family sessions and encounter groups as requested
Use the agency's Electronic Health Record to input information on client's participation in group within a timely manner, including Planning and Progress notes
Plus completing all paperwork as per OASAS regulations and agency standards
Facilitate crisis intervention as needed
Implement strategies to increase patient's participation
Adhere to multidiscipline treatment recommendations that are incorporated into treatment plans
Inform counseling staff of any relevant clinical concerns regarding a patient that may have arisen during group participation
Participate and take a leadership role in Treatment Plan Reviews and Case Conferences
Qualifications;
CASAC-T or LMSW certification
Masters Degree
Bilingual Spanish
