Core Job Responsibilities:

The Apprentice Bartender is responsible for assisting Bartenders in all operational duties. This position is key in ensuring guests have a satisfactory experience by maintaining clean bars and keeping the bar stocked with supplies. The ideal candidate always works in an efficient and professional manner while maintaining a positive attitude and delivering superior guest service.

Everyone works in Safety–If you have a safety concern, it is your responsibility to address it by correcting it or notifying the appropriate department or individual.

Everyone works in Security–If you See Something, it is your responsibility to Say Something. You must notify the appropriate department or individual if you feel there is a security concern.

Everyone works in EVS–If there is trash on the floor, it is your responsibility to pick it up. If it is a mess that needs more attention, it is your responsibility to notify the appropriate department or individual.

Everyone works in Guest Experience–If a guest needs assistance, it is your responsibility to assist that guest and do so with a smile. If the guest needs more assistance than you can provide, it is your responsibility to notify the appropriate department or individual.

Primary Job Duties – Includes, but is not limited to:

Greet, interact, entertain and serve guests courteously and in a timely manner with an upbeat attitude.

Anticipate guest needs and respond to all guest inquiries, requests, directions and information in a courteous and polite manner.

Assist the Bartender by obtaining food and beverage orders from guests, organizing and prioritizing service per appropriate service sequence. Ensure that all orders are correct, properly presented and that special requests have been met.

Follow drink recipes when dispensing drinks and garnish beverages as needed per company standards and recipes.

Stock and setup/breakdown bar area daily.

Up sell guests by suggestively selling menu items, specials and beverages.

Recognize and cultivate regular guests and repeat business.

Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through your work area during your shift.

Keep all work areas clean and free of dirty glass, ashtrays, etc. and ensure that all tables and chairs are set correctly. Sweep, mop, wash, and sanitize bar mats, polish, wash glassware as needed.

Recognize and acknowledge when guests are becoming intoxicated and/or are intoxicated and alert Manager of disruptive guests. Refuse further service of alcohol to overly intoxicated guests in a courteous and safety-minded manner.

Comply with all safety and health department procedures and all state and federal liquor laws. Ensure that guests are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages.

Report any incidents of theft, vandalism or violations to management.

Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.

Other duties as assigned.

Required:

At least six months of experience in a fast-paced restaurant, nightclub or similar or related field.

Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, champagne, beer and mixed cocktails.

Previous experience modeling and presenting beverages.

Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Ability to effectively communicate in English.

Polished appearance and demeanor.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.

At least 21 years of age.

Preferred:

Previous experience working in a fast-paced restaurant, nightclub, or day club.

Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
