We are currently looking for a qualified Industrial Electrical Engineer to join our team.Requirements:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS - broken down by key job functions:
Design:
Jointly develop load lists and sequence of operations (SOO) with Project Engineer
Communicate with third-party equipment suppliers to understand their equipment’s electrical requirements, and scope of installation
Develop single-line electrical power schematics based on load lists
Specify secondary transformers and switchboards
Design low voltage (480V) power distribution system to MCCs
Design building grounding grid/system
Develop electrical plan sheets, wiring schematics, detail drawings, and specifications
Develop cable & conduit schedules, panel schedules, instrument lists, and electrical/controls BOMs
Advise mechanical and civil engineering counterparts of clearance and access requirements around electrical equipment, and loading imposed on structures by electrical conduit and equipment
Specify secondary transformers and switchboards
Specify MCCs/panelboards based on load lists and device requirements
Select field devices jointly with Project Engineer such as proximity switches, safety e-stops, level probes/sensors, etc.
Design HMI panels, HOA/JOA boxes, and other operator interface features
Develop electrical construction cost estimates
Perform calculations necessary to support all steps of the design process
Implementation:
Create requests for quotation for equipment (secondary substations, MCCs, panels, etc.)
Create requests for quotation for installation, including materials and labor
Evaluate supplier and contractor quotations, and make purchase recommendations jointly with Project Engineer
Provide on-site supervision and technical support of installation, startup, and commissioning
Monitor installation to confirm adherence to scope of work, and be able to accept, mitigate, or rebut change order requests
Regulatory Compliance:
Understand client’s specifications for electrical equipment and systems, and ensure the design complies or offer superior alternatives
Ensure design meets all applicable codes and regulations such as NEC, local codes, accepted industry practices, and place safety as prime importance
Communicate with local electrical inspector to understand local expectations prior to commencing design work
Candidate Requirements
Willing and able to travel to jobsites as required
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE - To qualify for this position, you will need to have:
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
PE license in at least one US state, NCEES record preferred
Minimum 7 years’ experience in electrical engineering in heavy industrial applications
