The Director of Student Programs is responsible for the leadership and management of developing, monitoring and supporting student programs for Skyrocket and its clients. Our current Skyrocket student programs include: Career Technical Education, Experiential Electives and our Art and Creative Engagement programs. Working under the direction of the Chief Student Experience Officer, this position will work to strategize around growth within the student programs department, conduct high level networking to secure deep workforce connections and partners, and manage the day to day operations of Skyrockets highly accomplished student programming.

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:*

Oversees the day to day operations and staff of the Student Program department at Skyrocket.

Responsible for the growth, creativity and new initiatives of the Student Programs department.

Directs post-secondary programs based upon the planning, implementation and evaluation of educational and funded programs in centers and other assigned programs.

Supervises and tracks progress goals of student program staff including TOC Instructors.

Support and identify training needs and mapping out development plans for Student Advisors.

Manages recruitment, selection and training of personnel, making sound recommendations regarding staffing and staff development.

Develops and coordinates partnerships with area colleges/universities to ensure student access to college credit courses for eligible students.

Works collaboratively with community agencies and the business community to manage programs supporting student internships, mentoring, job shadowing, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Working knowledge of federal and state code governing CTE and familiarity of the policies, organization and CTE requirements.

Demonstrated ability to work successfully with teachers, administration and community partners in assisting the development and implementation of a CTE program.

Strong public relations skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate problem-solving skills, while maintaining diplomacy, courtesy, professionalism.

Strong management and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a diverse community.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to travel as needed.

Education and Experience:

BA or equivalent

Master’s in Education or related field preferred.

At least three years of experience with the administration of CTE and/or post-secondary programs preferred.

2-3 years management experience preferred.
