THE POSITION

As a member of the Gathering & Processing - Central Operations team, the Plant Operator will be based at the Strachan Gas Plant, southwest of Rocky Mountain House. The Plant Operator will perform Intermediate Level operating assignments on plant equipment and maintenance of a safe working environment within the gas processing facility.

RESPONSILITIES

Assist with the daily operation of the Strachan Gas Plant.

Responsible for daily operating assignments on plant equipment and processes.

Operate the facility in a safe, economical, and efficient manner using quality principals.

Work with Team on preventative maintenance, and ensure equipment is running efficiently and safely.

Monitor facility readings, product sampling, and quality control.

Assist with contractors, driver orientation, and supervision for on-site operations.

Participate in the review, modification, or development of facility procedures.

Support Engineering, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Maintenance Teams with various projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Technical diploma from NAIT/SAIT (or relevant diploma/degree from an accredited institution).

Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineers Certificate.

Minimum of 5 years’ previous applicable experience related to Natural Gas Plant Processing.

Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and the Environment.

Self-starter who can work independently with a minimum of supervision.

Strong team player with proven communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

Highly organized, reliable individual with attention to detail.

At the sole discretion of management, other combinations of directly relevant experience and educational credentials will be considered.

Valid H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG and First Aid Certificates would be an asset.

Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.

Physically able to perform all components of the position.

This role requires the candidate to wear respiratory protective equipment. As per Alberta OHS 250(2), the candidate must ensure an adequate seal where the face piece of the equipment seals to the skin of the face.

A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract).
