Job Title: Category Manager [Supply Chain Mgmt., Electric Utility T&D]
Location: Providence, RI 02907 - Hybrid
Duration: 12+ Months [High Possibility of Extension]
Note: This role requires 2 Days Onsite and 3 Days Remote a week.
Qualifications:
• Must have experience writing contractors for Utility T&D Construction Projects.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of Operations Services Buying experience.
• Knowledge of gas/electric utility products, equipment, and services.
• Knowledge of commercial terms and conditions, business laws, and legal issues.
Summary:
• This role oversees supply chain management for utility electric and gas operations, encompassing activities like managing competitive bids, negotiating, conducting various analyses.
• Developing supplier relationships, monitoring supplier performance, reporting cost savings, and fostering continuous improvement among suppliers and customers.
• Experienced professional capable of working independently with minimal supervision and may involve providing guidance to other employees.
Responsibilities:
• Develop strategies for negotiating complex contracts worth millions.
• Collaborate with the Office of General Counsel to ensure adequate commercial protection, and lead negotiations to optimize company outcomes.
• Conduct market and financial analyses to assess business risks associated with suppliers or contracts.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with suppliers based on ethical standards and company policies.
• Serve as the main point of contact for suppliers in assigned categories.
