About this Role:

NorthStar Energy Services offers engineering, procurement, project management, construction management, and consulting solutions to clients in the energy, petrochemical, and process industries. What You'll Do:

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Mechanical Engineer for this position is responsible for design of pumps, vessels, filters, equipment specifications, ASME code interpretations, equipment design, calculations, and selections. The Engineer is also responsible for developing the technical deliverables required for industrial mechanical systems, as well as the overall system design for industrial facilities in one or more of the following areas, gas treating, oil and gas, or power plants, liquid material handling.

Mechanical Engineer with 5-7 years of experience, working in Engineering Consulting, capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Primary responsibilities specifying industrial equipment, equipment sizing, calculations, and selections. Updating equipment information on P&ID's, and specifications sheets.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop mechanical design specifications packages for industrial equipment.

Has comprehensive knowledge of commonly used engineering concepts, practices, codes, and procedures. Experience with B31-3, B31-4, B31-7, and B31-8. Experience with Part 49 CFR, Part 195 – transportation of hazardous liquids.

Can execute assigned work without the need of direct supervision.

Perform sizing, selection, and specification.

Participates in inter-discipline, project related activities such as process reviews, drawing reviews and equipment reviews, as necessary to support proposal or project efforts.

Participate in weekly calls as requested to verify scope and information.

Experience with P&ID’s, Hydro testing, pipes, valves, and fittings for pipelines

Willing to travel to the job site and meet with clients and construction personnel as necessary to scope the project and collect information for design.

Experienced in handling multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritizing tasks.

What You'll Bring:

Job Qualifications and Required Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in a Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University, Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) is optional.

5 to 10 years’ experience, working in engineering consulting,

capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Primary responsibilities working with process group on mechanical equipment, creating equipment specifications, updating P&ID's, sizing pumps, exchanges, experience with Caesar II pipe stress. Other responsibilities include specialty items, reviews of pipe specs.

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Light physical effort required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about facility.
