The Director of Loss Control and Risk Management is responsible for providing risk management and loss control expertise and services to Commercial Lines P&C insureds, BKCW personnel, and prospective clients. This candidate will have the responsibility for evaluating, developing, coordinating, and implementing the specific functions of the department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership, direction and organization related to all loss control services in support of the insured.
Develop relationships with clients and assist in establishing, implementing, and completing long-term control/risk management goals.
Manage and coordinate loss control services between the client and the insurance carrier(s) to maximize loss control services customized to meet the clients’ specific needs.
Organize joint efforts of client, Agency and the insurer to analyze, implement and monitor safety, fleet and risk protection issues.
Establish loss control service protocols that ensure maximum performance and uniformity of process as well as any special handling procedures.
Conduct, coordinate and/or participate in periodic claims and/or loss control reviews.
Conduct comprehensive audits of potential risks and overall safety at facilities, job sites or projects as necessary.
Maintain current knowledge and information relating to new health and safety tools, processes, policies and specific requirements imposed by government agencies.
Create and/or update client safety manuals.
Analyze statistical data pertaining to client accident and incident activity and assist the client in implementing programs and procedures to resolve the problem(s).
Present to prospective clients in the possible implementation of improvements for safety and health tools, processes, policies and training.
Keep current First Aid training.
Capable of travelling, both overnight and multi-day trips.
Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5-10 years industry loss control/safety experience preferred
FSR Designation
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
Continuing Education courses after licensed as CSP or (ASP working toward CSP designation) such as ARM, CPCU, CUSA, CSHEM, CIH, ALCM etc.
Prior Agency claims experience preferred
Knowledge of OSHA requirements is required
Previous DOT knowledge and compliance experience is required
Prior experience in the oil and gas industry, fleet safety, construction safety or manufacturing
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Great lead project management Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) with quick and accurate aptitude to learn new systems
Exceptional relationship and development skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with others on a team
Ability to communicate in person, writing and verbally with clients
