Job Description
We are seeking a Controller for our healthcare operations based in Portsmouth, Virginia. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, and revenue recognition, among other duties. This role will be integral to our finance department, providing strategic financial insights for decision-making and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, and revenue recognition
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and operations, with a strong emphasis on internal controls
• Manage all payment methods, ensuring all accounts are paid on time
• Administer the corporate credit card program and monitor cash balances
• Prepare and distribute meeting information packets prior to scheduled quarterly Board of Directors meetings
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the yearly budget
• Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding pricing, capital costs, and debt instruments
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Oversee the organization of necessary information for all external audits
• Use accounting software systems and ERP solutions to manage accounting functions efficiently
Skills:
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and ERP Solutions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge in Auditing and Month End Close processes
• Ability to Provide Leadership and demonstrate strong Leadership Skills
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems is a plus.

• High ethical standards and professionalism in handling confidential information
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA) preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
