The Role:

As a Project Manager with expertise in IT connectivity for buildings, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the integration of IT equipment and systems within large-scale construction projects. This position involves collaborating closely with construction and planning teams to ensure seamless coordination of IT connectivity with mechanical and electrical systems.

What You’ll Do:

Lead the IT connectivity and multimedia aspects of complex buildings projects, working closely with IT Project Management Office (ITPMO), design teams, and construction teams.

Collaborate with Construction and Planning teams to coordinate IT equipment integration with Mechanical/Electrical (M/E) systems for building construction projects.

Manage connectivity and multimedia requirements with the design team and ITPMO to meet project objectives and timelines.

Provide value engineering expertise for the Building Connectivity and Components (BCC) scope, developing design schedules, and ensuring efficient project execution.

Conduct value engineering initiatives.

Support the development of baseline cost estimates and conduct costing analyses for various design options related to IT infrastructure.

Integrate design and construction activities, overseeing systems integration (SI) reviews, document control system (DCS) preparation, and design change request (DCR) processes.

Review design documents, coordinating partner comment resolution and work plan development.

Coordinate design schedules, analyze potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project milestones are achieved efficiently.

What You’ll Bring:

Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Engineering, or another relevant field.

8 years+ experience as a Project Manager supporting construction, design or engineering projects.

Extensive experience as a Senior Project Manager with a focus on IT infrastructure projects, preferably within large-scale construction or government environments.

Strong knowledge of project management and procurement best practices and a track record of successful delivery.

Proven track record in value engineering, budget management, and project delivery.

Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

Excellent listening and critical thinking skills, sound judgement.

Exemplary organizational and strategic thinking skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project, and technical issues.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

High degree of proficiency with MS Office suite, specifically Excel, Word and Project.

Existing Government of Canada Secret security clearance.
