The Role:

As a Project Manager with expertise in Furniture and Equipment, you will be responsible for researching, sourcing, and purchasing high-quality furniture that meets government procurement regulations and standards. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including client groups, architects, designers, contractors, vendors, and suppliers, to ensure that furniture procurement is cost-effective, efficient, and addresses the space usage needs and design requirements of building occupants.

What You’ll Do:

Conduct market research and analysis to determine the most suitable furniture products that fulfill the requirements of the space design.

Collaborate with government officials, architects, designers, contractors, and vendors to develop furniture specifications, designs, and budgets for government projects.

Develop and maintain relationships with furniture manufacturers, dealers, and distributors to ensure a reliable supply of quality products at competitive prices.

Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers and vendors to optimize cost savings while maintaining quality and compliance with government procurement regulations.

Coordinate the furniture procurement process, including requests for proposals, bids, evaluations, and selections, ensuring compliance with government procurement regulations and timelines.

Coordinate furniture delivery, installation, and maintenance with vendors, suppliers, and government agencies to ensure efficient and timely project completion.

Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and pricing, and provide regular reports and feedback to government officials and stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring:

Strong team player with a growth mindset and a passion for what you do!

Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Business/Commerce, or another relevant field.

8 years+ experience as a Project Manager supporting construction, design or engineering projects.

Strong knowledge of project management and procurement best practices and a track record of successful delivery.

Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

Excellent listening and critical thinking skills, sound judgement.

Exemplary organizational and strategic thinking skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project, and technical issues.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

High degree of proficiency with MS Office suite, specifically Excel, Word and Project.

Existing Government of Canada security clearance.
