Title: Warehouse Forklift Operator

Department: Operations

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

Position is for full time Forklift Operator in the Raleigh, North Carolina area. Hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. No weekends.

Definition: The Forklift Operator has direct responsibility for receiving product deliveries, order pulling and loading of delivery trucks. All forklift activities related to the inbound and outbound distribution of fulfillment inventory is the Forklift Operator’s responsibility. The Forklift Operator may assist in various warehouse activities related to product inventory. The Forklift Operator is expected to assist in keeping inventory organized and in accurate locations. The Forklift Operator reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.

Three years experience in warehouse and forklift operations, preferably in distribution facilities

Certification on forklift

Working knowledge of inventory control programs a plus.

Interpersonal skills

Time management skills

Physical Demands:

Be able to pick-up boxes weighing 25 to 35 lbs.

Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, bending, standing, climbing or walking on a consistent basis.

Description of Duties:

Forklift Operator is responsible for receipt of 4/5 inbound trucks per day, loading 2/3 outbound trucks per day and pulling 2/3 orders per day. Additional responsibilities include proper stocking of inbound product, periodic cycle counts, management of warehouse space and assisting with work orders related to product inventory.

Inbound shipments must be inspected and corrected if necessary and issues are recorded. Typical corrective measures (work orders) include palletizing shifted loads, labeling cases with correct information, management of in-transit damage, and palletizing for correct quantities. Staff manpower is normally available to assist with these tasks.

Outbound shipments must be checked for accuracy before they are shipped.
