EDM Operator
Education and Experience Requirements:
Education: High School diploma and a 2-year certificate in machine trades from a technical school or community college.
Experience: Minimum of three years working with CNC machine trades.
Responsibilities and Primary Duties:
Equipment Setup and Programming:
Set up and program EDM equipment to ensure optimal functionality in producing precision parts for toolmakers and designers.
Measurement and Documentation:
Measure, mark, and document dimensions of materials.
Software Programming:
Program using CAD (Computer-Aided Design), CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing), and Agie software applications.
Conduct G-code programming for wired EDM machines.
Process Monitoring:
Oversee the EDM machining process and inspect the final products to ensure quality standards.
Physical and Technical Skills:
Operators need to have physical strength, stamina, and dexterity, and must be capable of lifting up to 70 pounds.
Blueprint and Engineering Analysis:
Analyze blueprints and engineering drawings to assess part dimensions and cutting configurations.
Maintenance and Tool Management:
Perform complex tool changes and adjustments.
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members within the organization.
Basic Computer Skills:
Manage basic PC operations and handle file manipulation tasks
