Technical Writer

Role Purpose Civica Vadodara, a multicultural software company is seeking a creative and self-motivated Technical Writer with considerable exposure to multiple domains preferable in health insurance. . The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, reviewing and maintaining product user guides, Technical references, Online Help and Training materials. This role will be measured by the following criteria: 85% of working hours to be billable; delivery of high quality product in accordance with our ISO 9001 Quality Management System

Principal Accountabilities Key Responsibilities and Duties: · Understand product documentation requirements for new features, analyse source information such as SOWs, internal wikis and user stories to develop end user documentation. · Prepare well structured drafts based on Civica templates. · Take ownership to produce all product publications such as feature configuration guides, API references, user guides, release notes, online help and training content. · Access code base in Visual Studio to understand the API call flow. · Liase with key stakeholders to create, review and verify information. · Simplify complex technical descriptions into user friendly information while retaining the integrity of the product feature. · Familiarse with the product application and document features independently with minimum supervision. · Follow and adhere to release cycles. · Follow internal writing guidelines and publishing process. · Comply with Civica’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System. · First class and above grade in Masters or Bachelor degree from a university of UGC accreted.

Essential Competencies · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Highly motivated and self starter. · Ability to learn concepts quickly and turn around complex technical documentation with minimum supervision. · Highly skilled at using MS Word, appling Microsoft Styles and using templates. · Understanding of technical writing concepts such as topic-based writing, XML writing and content reuse. · Comfortable working with Madcap Flare, Confluence and Robohelp. · Attention to detail. · Ability to think laterally to details the contents. · The ability to work to agreed deadlines. ·

Mandatory Skills

Develop user manuals, feature configuration guides, API References and training guides.

Skilled at using Microsoft word and all its features. Experience with topic-based writing, XML writing and content reuse. Experience with Madcap Flare.

Regularly work with experts on specific subject matters to ensure accuracy, relevancy, and usability of all technical content.

Fluent in grammar, information mapping, vocabulary and plain English writing.

Excellent communication skills and interpersonal qualities.
