SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR / TOLLING ENGINEER JOB SUMMARY

The selected candidate will be responsible for the smooth operation of the roadside equipment tolling. With zero downtime applications and sensitive information. The selected candidate shall be able to diagnose and solve software, hardware, and network issues that the system encounters. Keeping track of its behavior, possible errors, system logs, generating periodic hardware and software status and performance reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Preventative, Proactive and Reactive maintenance for tolling plazas, both software and hardware.

Daily monitoring of the system, ensuring smooth operations of all roadside equipment.

Ticketing and work order management.

Systems wiring, cabling, and labelling on both testing and production environments.

Setup and configuration of different device on workbench for testing and troubleshooting.

Setup and configuration of Unix based systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Coordination and support of field works for repairs and maintenance activities.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS

This position requires jobsite visits such as on and around roadways, under bridges, and in active construction zones.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

4 year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience.

AS or BS in Engineering, Construction Management or Environmental Science preferred

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Relevance experience in the tolling industry

A good understanding of hardware and software interactions

Ability to manage a system via command line interface.

Linux systems administration skills

Backup, cloning and restoration of physical and virtual machine

TCP/IP Networking

Creation and maintenance of SFTP/FTP

Experience with configuration, field deployment, and maintenance of IT devices (CCTV, UPS, ...)

Capable of working on the field at heights

Data analysis using Excel to detect trends

Database experience (PostgreSQL, Oracle)

A self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision and an excellent safety record.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent computer skills (CAD, MS PROJECT, EXCEL, WORD, etc).

Experience with state Department of Transportation Experience is a plus.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Degree required.

Proficient computer/office skills (EXCEL, WORD, etc).

Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

Must pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test

Must demonstrate eligibility to work in U.S.

Possession of a valid driver's license is a requirement for this job.
