Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for the electronic drafting support of engineering activities associated with utility construction.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and construction of overhead and underground high-voltage electrical systems
Perform AutoCAD/Microsoft drawing activities as assigned
Input field data into electronic format
Assist engineering staff with the design and layout of construction prints
Complete daily contract administration; attends project meetings
Conducts field audits for the construction of gas and/or electrical power systems
Provides engineering information to customers; responds to inquiries and requests
Demonstrates knowledge of construction sites, the work, and the feasibility of the construction
Fosters a safe, productive job-site environment and quality work products; encourages an attitude of safety and quality in others
Requirements/Qualifications:
Two-year degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, civil) or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Knowledge of computer drafting (AutoCAD acceptable, MicroStation preferred)
Basic understanding of utility electric and/or gas design standards and procedures
Knowledge of electric utility equipment in the field and understanding of the electric distribution process
Ability to design electric distribution systems based on field/site conditions and notes, utility infrastructure maps, and input from utility engineers
Experience with contractual related project/work environment a plus
Proficiency level in MS Office applications (specifically Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Willingness to participate in a team environment
Willingness to work in an outside environment
Excellent verbal and written communication
Valid driver's license
