What You'll Do

Review and assign project manager and/or detailer to project with the sufficient skill set

Manage the process between detailers and customers' requirements in specifications and delivery

Attend preconstruction meetings and project conference calls

Assign all rebar detailing work efficiently and in accordance with customers' delivery needs

Oversee the productivity and work quality of the detailers to ensure efficiency, accuracy and quality

Review shop drawings prior to release and prepare rebar placing drawings as needed

Review all contract changes and charges to ensure proper customer billing and investigate when projects over/under ship greater than 3%

Project detailing cost projections and forecasting while overseeing that all change orders are accounted for and processed

Manage the hiring and training of new detailers and act as the Subject Matter Expert for all rebar detailing technology and recommendations

Produce reports as requested by management

Department Kronos time system management and department employee performance reviews

Create SAP Purchase Requests for project specific material, outside detailing costs and outside placer costs

Review and approve all invoices

What You'll Need

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a rebar detailer or equivalent industry experience preferred

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a supervisor required; to include experience in customer relations and resolving problems and/or disputes

Effective skills in communication, motivation, performance evaluation and customer service

Basic knowledge of contract law, standard business practices and human relations

SAP experience a plus

Ability to travel up to 20%, with occasional overnight travel required

Your Education

Two year technical degree from an accredited school or college preferred

Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from an accredited school or college, or equivalent preferred
