About the role:

The Food Safety Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, execution, and implementation of key microbiology and food safety programs for the site, which include Raw Material Sampling Plan, Finished Product Sampling Plan, Environmental Monitoring, and other food safety initiatives and certifications.

You will perform key functions for Quality and Supply Chain. You must be able to communicate and interact with all departments and levels of personnel and assimilate pertinent information and data. You are responsible to ensure all products produced at this site meet all local and federal regulations and is safe and wholesome. In addition, meets all requirements mandated by BRC.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Ensure GMP and food safety requirements and policies are implemented and respected

Capable of implementing and coordinating food safety programs (HACCP, Environmental Monitoring, Pest Management, Sanitation, Raw Material and Finished Product Sampling Plan) for the production facility.

Certified Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) preferred.

Support the implementation of corrective actions associated with identified gaps (both internal and external).

Ensure data is entered into the Quality Module of SAP accurately and in a timely manner.

Ensure the correct transactions in SAP are conducted and completed as required (releases, blocks, returns).

Issue Certificate of Analysis to customers and keep record of the history of recorded analysis results

Perform trending analysis; identify non-conformances and opportunities for improvement for raw material analysis, finished item analysis and the Environmental Monitoring Program.

Management of customer documentation requirements for products being supplied from the facility, including bills of lading, packing lists, delivery notes, and quality certificates.

Work closely with Supply Chain to ensure incoming ingredients, chemicals, and packaging materials are sampled, inspected, and approved for use in the plant.

Provide support to correct key food safety complaints.

Continuous improvement of Quality Culture.

In the absence of the QA manager, represent all QA and Food Safety Systems and Processes.
