JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Materials Specialist supports cost effective needs of department by ensuring availability of appropriate procedure specific equipment and supplies. Interfaces with Supply Chain and the Clinical Team in facilitating cycle counts, inventory management, consumption, outdates, and forecasting. Collaborate with Service Line Specialists on the coordination of trials and onboarding of new technology. Work directly with sales representatives to obtain price quotes, facilitate routine orders, and gather information on contracts. Partner with Sterile Processing, Biomedical Engineering for repair and evaluation of hospital medical equipment.

Minimum Requirements

Education

Associates Degree in a medical field or equivalent relevant experience

Experience

Two to four years employment in a related medical field

Licensure, Certification, Registration

Annual licensure and certification renewed within required timeline

Preferred Requirements

Experience

Five years employment in perioperative services

Three to five years employment in supply chain

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements

Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information.

Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use). Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Basic computer knowledge in order to enter/retrieve data.

Working knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology.

Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, peers, employees, physicians and managers.

Ability to read and understand oral and written material and effectively communicate technical or complex information.

Works efficiently and organizes time appropriately.

Ability to prioritize daily work assignments. Must be organized, flexible and a team player.

Demonstrates initiative in all job-related activities.
