Building Maintenance Handyman – Full Time of Part Time - Immediate Hiring

Drivergent Transportation is a Metro Detroit school transportation company looking for motivated, experienced school bus mechanic who want to join our team.

As a Building Maintenance Handyman for Drivergent Transportation, you will play a critical role in our maintenance team. The Handyman is responsible for installing, removing maintaining and repairing any areas relating to building and property maintenance.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who must work in a fast-paced environment. Excelling at this position you must be able to multitask, communicate well with others, and have hands-on building maintenance experience with a knowledge of construction, electrical and plumbing operations. This person needs to be very goal-orientated and willing to work at a very fast pace while maintaining the quality and accuracy outlined in the job expectations.

Additionally, this role will also support and assist our vehicle maintenance team, as well as a variety of other general shop related activities.

General Responsibilities

The Handyman should have expertise in multiple types of commercial and residential repair, maintenance and remodeling. Must have basic repair and maintenance skills, be organized, and effectively communicate with others with a positive attitude.

Specific Responsibilities

Maintain the interior and exterior of the property, and assists with minor repairs such as electrical, plumbing, concrete, masonry, roofing, painting and carpentry.

Installing new equipment or tools and removal of old

Pass drug and alcohol screening as established by company.

Meet company standards for criminal history check.Physical Requirements

Must be able to physically perform the following duties with or without accommodation: Operate a variety of automotive machines, contractor and mechanics tools, and equipment. Utilize hand and power tools safely and correctly.

Must be able to use body members to work; lift, push, pull, move, or carry heavy objects or materials.

Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 35 to 50 pounds of force frequently. Must be able to lift and/or carry weight of 50 to 100 pounds.
