ABOUT THE POSITION:

As a Batch/Compound Manager you will be responsible for managing the production of cosmetic batches, ensuring accurate formulation of raw materials, adherence to quality standards, and efficient workflow.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the daily batching and compounding operations, including the preparation and blending of raw materials according to batch formulation and production schedules.

Supervise and coordinate the activities of batching/compounding staff, including scheduling, training, performance evaluation, and coaching, to ensure a high-performing team.

Develop and maintain batch records, standard operating procedures (SOP’s), and work instructions for batching and compounding processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.

Collaborate with R&D and quality control teams to develop and optimize batch formulations, ensuring consistency, stability, and quality of finished products.

Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods related to batching and compounding operations, and coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to maintain adequate supplies.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and environmental regulations in all batching and compounding activities.

Oversee the maintenance and calibration of batching/compounding equipment and machinery, coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.

Conduct regular inspections and audits of batching/compounding areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with sanitation standards.

Implement process improvements and efficiency initiatives to optimize batching and compounding operations, reduce waste, and improve productivity.

Participate in cross-functional teams and meetings to address production issues, resolve conflicts, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field is a plus.

Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience; previous experience in batch/compound management or production management, preferably in the cosmetic industry, is required.

Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities effectively.

In-depth knowledge of batching and compounding processes and equipment in the cosmetic industry, including mixers, tanks, and blending machines.

Familiarity with cosmetic formulation principles, raw materials, and regulatory requirements related to cosmetic manufacturing.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
