With the skilled and experienced Compressor Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of compressors within our facilities

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, electrical troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance

Responsibilities:

Conduct routine inspections of compressor systems to identify signs of wear, damage, or malfunction.

Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, filter replacement, and alignment checks, according to manufacturer guidelines and maintenance schedules.

Troubleshoot compressor issues using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Repair or replace defective components, such as valves, bearings, seals, and electrical controls, to restore compressor functionality.

Perform compressor overhauls and rebuilds as necessary to extend equipment lifespan and maintain performance efficiency.

Monitor compressor performance metrics, such as temperature, pressure, and vibration levels, and take corrective actions to optimize operation.

Collaborate with production and engineering teams to coordinate compressor maintenance activities and minimize downtime impact on operations.

Document maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition, in maintenance management systems or logs.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities, including lockout/tagout procedures and use of personal protective equipment.

Provide technical support and guidance to junior maintenance technicians or operators on compressor operation and maintenance best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Proven experience at least 15-18 year in compressor maintenance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of compressor principles, including reciprocating, rotary screw, and centrifugal compressors, as well as associated control systems.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

Hands-on experience with maintenance tools and equipment, including wrenches, meters, gauges, and precision instruments.

Familiarity with predictive maintenance techniques, such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis, is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members, vendors, and management.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations, to support maintenance operations.
