Your role

Will you be agile enough to manage multiple projects effectively?

After joining the team, you will be learning/contributing about:

• work with various internal partners (Investment areas, Client coverage, Operations, etc.), both in Japan and overseas, to help develop and manage variety of products to meet Japanese client needs

• frequent interaction with external partners (offshore Administrator, Management company, etc.) to manage existing funds as well as to handle operational inquiries

• you will be supporting other senior team members for multiple fund/regulation related projects, changing from time to time

• you will be taking a leading role in some projects like product lifecycle management (i.e. monitor/maintain, change, close funds), with support from other senior team members

This role is possible for hybrid work after probation period.

Your team

You will be working within our Products team in Japan, within the wider APAC product organization.

We work closely with our distribution teams (Institution, Wholesale, Wealth management) and other key functions leading projects from all stages of the product lifecycle: concept development, implementation, management as well as closure.

We provide/manage wide variety of funds/accounts, both in Japan and offshore, for retail/institutional clients, of traditional/alternative assets.

We also implement regulatory change requirements and monitor the ongoing suitability and commercial viability of existing products.

Your expertise

You need to fulfill some of the requirements listed below:

• must be native or very fluent in Japanese, also good in English (business communication level both in writing and oral communication)

• ideally 3 years recent experience working in a similar products role in the asset management industry

• an understanding of clients’ needs and expectations and the distribution models that operate in Japan

• knowledge of fund structures and regulations, with a particular emphasis on Japan domiciled funds and/or managed accounts, for various investment strategies and asset classes

• knowledge/experience of offshore funds (Cayman, Lux, Ireland) will be a plus

• proven project management skills, an ability to manage competing priorities to tight deadlines, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• an excellent communicator, able to constructively negotiate and influence others

• a team player

• able to learn quickly and evolve in a fast paced, fast changing environment, coupled with flexibility in working to uneven workloads
