JOB SUMMARY

Nabors is seeking summer intern for their AI team. The intern will apply their Generative AI, LLM, AI and statistical algorithms skills to help drive development and decisions on key Gen AI initiatives. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work on both structured and unstructured data, involving tasks like data extraction, preprocessing and transformation.

• Ability to assess feasibility and effectiveness of generic AI solutions vs custom built solutions.

• Research LLM approaches and frameworks to understand their capabilities, performance metrics.

• Ability to design and suggest best technology to use for the problem at hand.

• Works closely with other team members, including data scientists, engineers, software developers, project managers.

• Contribute to development and deployment of AI models to customer facing apps.

• Ability to analyze model responses and fine tune when necessary to meet the accuracy and relevance criteria.

• Craft, test and refine prompts to effectively communicate with AI models.

• Defining new data collection and analysis processes.

• Demonstrate illustrations and visualizations of data communicating results of business impact.

• Document completed work so others can understand and implement.

• Able to analyze data and understand the relationships and correlations.

• Follows procedures and safety guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS

• Pursuing or having recently completed university studies towards bachelor’s degree or master’s/PhD in Computer Science Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

• Basic understanding of the following from previous work/classes/research and/or relevant pervious jobs/internships:

o Python and Machine learning libraries, frameworks, and algorithms.

o NLP techniques and tools.

o Language model architectures including transformers, RNNs, BERT, GPT etc.

o SQL and data handling skills.

• Verbal and written communication skills

• An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

• Troubleshooting skills

• Awareness of ethical considerations in AI, including bias, fairness, and the impact of LLMs.

• Ability to work in groups/teams.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS

• The primary location for this position is an office environment.

• Able to lift to 20 lbs.

• Rig yard trips may be expected from time to time.

• 20% travel to rig yards and field.
