Description:

Kalahari Development is a division of Kalahari Resorts & Conventions which acts as an internal construction management firm. The Development team is responsible for taking project ideas from the Executive team and managing them through the entire design & construction process. This includes new site development, ground-up construction projects as well as remodeling projects and large-scale facilities maintenance projects.

We are inviting you to apply for the Construction Project Manager position. In this position, you would be expected to manage projects by ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget, with limited direction and oversight from the executive team. Additionally, you’ll prepare high level estimates based on conceptual or schematic level drawings, prepare and review contracts for design, construction, and procurement services, manage the closeout process, review invoices, and pay applications prior to payment. You’ll also be inspecting construction-in-progress to ensure the design objectives are being met and schedules are being maintained. You’ll achieve this by reviewing documents in conjunction with design and construction team partners to ensure the best interests of the owner are met during the process.

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions currently has four operating properties making up approximately 6 million total square feet of facilities currently under management. These properties are spread out at locations across the country with plans for continued growth and development. The person in the Development Construction Project Manager position will be based out of our Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin headquarters location and must be willing to travel at least 25% of their time.

With this position, we ask for a background of:

5+ years of construction management experience

Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.

Experience with multiple different types of contracting and project delivery methods.

Ability to solicit pricing for potential projects by organizing bid documents, creating RFP’s, assembling qualified bidder’s lists, reviewing bids/proposals, and organizing results of bids received for presentation.

Ability to interact and communicate clearly with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and resort operations personnel while maintaining the highest professional standards.

Microsoft Project scheduling software (or similar), RS Means estimating software (or similar), Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or other typical construction industry software programs is a plus, but not required.

Bachelor’s degree in construction management (or related field) is a plus, but not required if the Director of Development feels the applicants experience is appropriate to handle the job duties.

If your background is what we’re seeking and your personality is one of service to others, please consider joining our growing and industry leading team.
