We are in search of a Tax Manager to join RH;s client, a CPA Firm in Northern California. The primary role would be managing tax compliance, tax planning, team leadership, stakeholder communication, and reporting. This role offers a contract employment opportunity with opportunity to convert to fulltime employee.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee tax compliance to ensure the company adheres to all relevant tax laws and regulations, including the preparation and filing of tax returns, making tax payments, and responding to tax audits.

• Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the company’s tax liabilities and optimize its financial performance through research and analysis of tax laws and regulations.

• Lead and manage the tax team, including hiring and training staff, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing feedback and guidance.

• Prepare and present reports on the company’s tax activities to senior management, explaining complex tax issues in a clear and understandable manner.

• Act as a liaison with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities, including negotiating with tax authorities and representing the company in tax disputes.

• Proficiency in utilizing Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning for various accounting functions.

• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and stay updated on any changes or modifications to these regulations.

• Conduct regular audits to ensure the company is compliant with all tax laws and regulations.

• Assist in the formation of business entities and handle the related tax matters.

• Handle income tax accounting matters and ensure they are accurately recorded and reported.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a tax role within a CPA firm or similar setting

• Proficiency in accounting software systems

• Familiarity with CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax

• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems

• Experience in auditing and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations

• Expertise in entity formation and income tax accounting

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions

• Proven leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior staff member
