We are partnering with a manufacturing client within the Capital Region in search of an experienced Sr. Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of accounting and financial duties including invoicing, managing cash flow, preparing journal entries, month-end close activities, and more. If you are strong in excel, enjoy all aspects of accounting and love a challenge, this temp-to-hire position is for you!

What you'll be responsible for:

• Handle invoicing tasks with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring appropriate GL code for invoices

• Oversee and manage daily/weekly cash flow within the organization

• Prepare and record journal entries as part of the company's accounting practices

• Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, and lead collection efforts, to ensure all financial transactions are executed and documented in accordance with company policies.

• Research and advise on sales tax questions in all states and reconcile monthly sales tax

• Process corporate credit card transactions.

• Maintain fixed assets excel spreadsheets and conduct month-end close activities, including the preparation and review of financial reports and statements

• Support the CFO and accounting team in various accounting and financial tasks

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards in all accounting and financial functions.

• Must have a comprehensive understanding of Journal Entries.

• Experience in managing Daily Cash Flow is essential.

• Proficiency in handling Monthly Invoices is required.

• Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is mandatory.

• Must be capable of conducting Month-end Close Activities effectively.

• A minimum of an associate's degree in finance, accounting, or related field and 5-10+ years experience is required (bachelor's degree is preferred).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.

• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.

• Hands-on experience with accounting software.

• MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.

• Experience with general ledger functions.

• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
